D I Y Terrarium

Great instructions on how to build your own terrarium at home

Now I may be a bit behind the 8 ball on this one but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.   Terrariums have become really popular of late and I now understand why.                                 ‘They are so easy to make!’ Go figure! This literally took me about 20mins after work to whip up. Admittedly I had all the bits and pieces required all ready to go so I could do it in a pinch. But still, they’re super easy and look fantastic! I decided […]

How to Grow a Rose from a Cutting!

Learn how to grow those beautiful roses you buy from the shows in your own backyard.

My gorgeous fiance surprised me for my birthday this year. He said to meet him at central station after work and to wear something pretty. So naturally I was very excited… “I LOVE GOOD SURPRISES,                          And it was a brilliant surprise!” He rocked up with a gorgeous red rose and two tickets to see Aladdin. Talk about spoiled. So how does this have anything to do with growing a rose you ask? Well, that rose lasted in the vase for about 4 weeks. I was very impressed. When […]

Balsamic Strawberry & Rhubarb Jam

A delicious new twists on your classic strawberry jam!

A simple baked strawberry & rhubarb recipe inspired me for this one. I was reading it and decided that this would make a fantastic jam, especially when I read the bit about the balsamic. Using the standard strawberry jam recipe from my favourite little book, ‘Mrs Beetons Jam Making’, I created a rather tasty new jam. It sounds a bit different but trust me it’s just as sweet and yummy as any other jam. Have a go, and let me know what you think! If you liked this jam you should definitely check out my Plum & Vanilla Jam!

Easy Nectarine Chicken!

This recipe is delicious, and it's so simple! I highly recommend giving it a go.

I have decided to mix up the traditional apricot chicken. I had some chicken thighs in the fridge that needed eating and when I was at the shops today all I could smell were the Nectarines so I decided to grab some and get creative with my chicken. And it worked surprisingly well. I’m calling it the modern take on Apricot Chicken. And best of all it’s so easy and healthy. You pretty much throw everything into the one dish and let it cook. Here’s the recipe. Give it a try and let me know how you go. If you’re […]

Balls Head Reserve Balls Head Reserve is a unique experience in the sense that it’s like a true bush walk but then you come around a corner and there is the stunning view of the City & Sydney Harbour Bridge. Plum & Vanilla Jam

Try your hand at some home made jam. This is one of my faveourite jam recipes. It's easy and delicious!

I love making jam. I don’t know why or how I came to love making jam, but I do. Maybe it has something to do with my mum and aunt making it when I was younger, I don’t know. The first time I ever made jam, it was a marmalade actually, was when I had a whole heap of oranges and very little time to eat them because I was going away for a couple of months. Terrible forethought on my part, might I add! It turned out to be the nicest marmalade, it was beautiful and clear and had […]
