5 Ways To See The Big Game If You Don’t Have Tickets!

5 Ways To See The Big Game If You Don’t Have Tickets!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So I’ve grown up in a family that loves the Cricket, Rugby Union, AFL & Tennis. Every summer the cricket or tennis is on the TV and every winter would be the footy. Now you’d think growing up surrounded by this would make me an avid viewer, well, you’re wrong. I don’t hang out for gameday. What I do hang out for is the friendship, fun and atmosphere that surrounds these events.  I love going to watch the cricket live, the crowd gets so into it and honestly, it’s a great day out. I also […]

5 Things I Learnt From Doing A Semi-Private Gym Program

5 things I learnt from doing a gym program

My Bad Christmas Christmas was pretty bad for me in terms of over-eating and lack of exercise. But the worst thing about it was I knew I was doing it and I didn’t care because again I knew I was kick-starting the year with a 28-day high-intensity gym program, which included a weights and nutrition plan. GYM! DC Health Performance to be exact, but still, A GYM!!! I haven’t done weights in my life unless you count pushups but really that’s just your own body weight and I’m pretty sure my trainer wouldn’t count it. Anyway, I signed up […]

Bradleys Head Reserve – Bushwalking in the City

A beautiful walk in the heart of the city

Bradleys Head Reserve Last Thursday the Fiance and I got up nice and early to go get some pretty shots of the sunrise, and to kill two birds with one stone (slightly brutal, I know) we decided to explore the Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay walk. For me this is fine, I’m an early morning kinda gal, but my fiance?? Not so much. He isn’t the best morning person but he knows how much I enjoy doing these things with him and that he tends to regret it if he doesn’t come along. Unfortunately for him, I forgot to check […]

D I Y Terrarium

Great instructions on how to build your own terrarium at home

Now I may be a bit behind the 8 ball on this one but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.   Terrariums have become really popular of late and I now understand why.                                 ‘They are so easy to make!’ Go figure! This literally took me about 20mins after work to whip up. Admittedly I had all the bits and pieces required all ready to go so I could do it in a pinch. But still, they’re super easy and look fantastic! I decided […]

Balls Head Reserve – Bushwalking in the City

The best of our City, get your walking shoes on and go and explore some of these fantastic walks that are so close to home!

Balls Head Reserve Balls Head Reserve is a unique experience in the sense that it’s like a true bush walk but then you come around a corner and there is the stunning view of the City & Sydney Harbour Bridge. The tracks are easy to follow but there are few steep climbs. For the more adventurous, there are a few older tracks that are a bit overgrown leading to beautiful lookout spots. But make sure you are careful!  We started our walk at the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability. Here you’ll find a cafe, markets (held on the last Sunday of […]

Burnt Caramel Upside Down Cake

A cake that's as good as a dessert! Give it a try, It's definitely one of my favourites!

It’s now the season of sunshine, fun at the beach, holidays, parties, BBQs, and stone fruit! Stone fruit is one of those foods that around my pubescent and just post pubescent (yep, I went there) stages I didn’t like, along with eating chicken off the bone and Parmesan cheese. Parmesan cheese! What was wrong with me! Thankfully my pallet/mind has readjusted and I now love all these things again plus a few extras. Which brings me to my new favourite cake! I found this recipe while on the hunt for your normal upside down cake. Originally it was  a Golden Pineapple […]

Self-Discipline

Give some of these self-discipline tips ago to see what works best for you

I’ve discovered how truly unfit I’ve become. My muscles are so sore today! Increased Exercise  It’s been 5 days straight now and all up I’ve done 240 lunges, 120 squats, 85 push-ups and 12.8km of walking and about 5.5km of running. And boy does my body know it. It’s funny though, the pain kind of feels good too. I guess it’s because it symbolises a change to me. My muscles have been at rest for so long that just this small amount of strain has made them wake up and start to build strength again. So I have pushed through […]

Concrete Stools – D I Y designer stools!

The Required Tools & Materials

The Inspiration About 6 months ago I was at a gorgeous little cafe and homewares shop up at Belmont, NSW and they had these concrete stools. They looked so good and I decided they’d make just as good a bedside table, so I added them to my project list and here they are. The Flaws The concrete stools I first saw had one flaw, the legs had fallen out and been glued back in. This got my mind ticking, trying to work out the best way to improve on this design. After many brainstorming moments, which usually tend to happen right […]

Yummy (Healthy) Pasta!

A healthy & yummy alternative to you standard pasta! Try it with any of your favourite sauces

So far I’ve been sticking to my goals! I threw out all the junk food in the house. Yes, threw it out, I’m proud to say I didn’t eat it. Such a strong moment for me. And I’ve been substituting certain meals with a healthier alternative. My favourite so far is Zucchini Spaghetti. I’ve had a spiraliser for ages. My friend bought one and never used it so gave it to mwa! It’s so simple to use and relatively quick, quicker than making pasta at least. The beauty of zucchini spaghetti as a meal is that you can use any […]

Achieving Your Goals

Goals

Goals Setting goals is a very important part of getting through life and achieving the things you believe in. Be them goals that you consciously set or ones that just happen in everyday life. By setting goals you help yourself to succeed. Without goals you can lose focus and direction. If your goal is to become a millionaire, practice acts of charity, learn a new skill, or like me, rebuild your fitness and health you need a defined path to help you on your way. To simply say ‘I want’ and to think it will happen will always leave you […]
