Pesto Meatballs

Super tasty pesto meatballs are great in a chicken broth or a hamburger patty

We are currently on a serious budget with the wedding coming up and our trip overseas. This month we’ve challenged ourselves with living off what’s in the fridge & cupboard & only spending $50/wk (or less) on groceries. This would be fine if at the same time I wasn’t trying to be super healthy. We could just carb load on homemade pasta & bread, I have heaps of goodies in the cupboard that’d work wonders with them! But, alas, I must at least try & stick to my goals as much as possible. Step in Pesto Meatballs in a Chicken […]

The Tickets Are Booked

3 awesome tricks to help you get cheaper airfares

Please note that this page contains affiliate links, this means I may earn a commission if you use them. I only recommend links that I use and trust. The tickets have been booked and we’re going on our long awaited adventure. I don’t know about you but this is only the second time I’ve flown overseas and booking the tickets was very exciting. For some reason though, I feel like it’d never stop being exciting.  Because of our lack of experience in the whole ticket booking process for going overseas, we used a travel agent.  Since booking the tickets I’ve […]

Believe In Yourself

To achieve your dreams you need to believe in yourself. These are a couple of tips to help you get there

The date is set, the tickets are booked, the planning is underway. I am finally going on my overseas adventure, and I am so so so very excited because I’ll also be sharing it with my husband! Well, he will be my husband by the time we leave. I’ve had this dream of going and living in Europe for years, probably since high school actually. Then life got in the way and I never really had enough money or I created other responsibilities that would affect my ability to travel. But really, what it came down to was me making […]

5 Gifts For The Modern Age Guy

5 Gifts For The Modern Man Who Has Everything

The Man Who Has Everything If you’re like me or your man is anything like mine, you are probably finding it harder and harder to buy him a gift be it for Valentine’s day or any other gift giving occasion. These days the modern man seems to be ‘the man who has everything’. With access to purchasing things online,  they don’t even have to go to the shops, so the man who never had anything because they hated shopping is gone. All they have to do is click a couple of buttons, wait a day or two, and Wola! They […]

5 Things I Learnt From Doing A Semi-Private Gym Program

5 things I learnt from doing a gym program

My Bad Christmas Christmas was pretty bad for me in terms of over-eating and lack of exercise. But the worst thing about it was I knew I was doing it and I didn’t care because again I knew I was kick-starting the year with a 28-day high-intensity gym program, which included a weights and nutrition plan. GYM! DC Health Performance to be exact, but still, A GYM!!! I haven’t done weights in my life unless you count pushups but really that’s just your own body weight and I’m pretty sure my trainer wouldn’t count it. Anyway, I signed up […]

Bradleys Head Reserve – Bushwalking in the City

A beautiful walk in the heart of the city

Bradleys Head Reserve Last Thursday the Fiance and I got up nice and early to go get some pretty shots of the sunrise, and to kill two birds with one stone (slightly brutal, I know) we decided to explore the Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay walk. For me this is fine, I’m an early morning kinda gal, but my fiance?? Not so much. He isn’t the best morning person but he knows how much I enjoy doing these things with him and that he tends to regret it if he doesn’t come along. Unfortunately for him, I forgot to check […]

D I Y Terrarium

Great instructions on how to build your own terrarium at home

Now I may be a bit behind the 8 ball on this one but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.   Terrariums have become really popular of late and I now understand why.                                 ‘They are so easy to make!’ Go figure! This literally took me about 20mins after work to whip up. Admittedly I had all the bits and pieces required all ready to go so I could do it in a pinch. But still, they’re super easy and look fantastic! I decided […]

Plum & Vanilla Jam

Try your hand at some home made jam. This is one of my faveourite jam recipes. It's easy and delicious!

I love making jam. I don’t know why or how I came to love making jam, but I do. Maybe it has something to do with my mum and aunt making it when I was younger, I don’t know. The first time I ever made jam, it was a marmalade actually, was when I had a whole heap of oranges and very little time to eat them because I was going away for a couple of months. Terrible forethought on my part, might I add! It turned out to be the nicest marmalade, it was beautiful and clear and had […]

Burnt Caramel Upside Down Cake

A cake that's as good as a dessert! Give it a try, It's definitely one of my favourites!

It’s now the season of sunshine, fun at the beach, holidays, parties, BBQs, and stone fruit! Stone fruit is one of those foods that around my pubescent and just post pubescent (yep, I went there) stages I didn’t like, along with eating chicken off the bone and Parmesan cheese. Parmesan cheese! What was wrong with me! Thankfully my pallet/mind has readjusted and I now love all these things again plus a few extras. Which brings me to my new favourite cake! I found this recipe while on the hunt for your normal upside down cake. Originally it was  a Golden Pineapple […]

Self-Discipline

Give some of these self-discipline tips ago to see what works best for you

I’ve discovered how truly unfit I’ve become. My muscles are so sore today! Increased Exercise  It’s been 5 days straight now and all up I’ve done 240 lunges, 120 squats, 85 push-ups and 12.8km of walking and about 5.5km of running. And boy does my body know it. It’s funny though, the pain kind of feels good too. I guess it’s because it symbolises a change to me. My muscles have been at rest for so long that just this small amount of strain has made them wake up and start to build strength again. So I have pushed through […]
