Check out this super tasty Pickled veg recipe!

“I’ve got a Pickle, I’ve got a Pickle, I’ve got a pickle, hey, hey, hey, hey!” And you will too after giving this tasty recipe a go. This year I’ve decided to give the gift of homemade goods. And these yummy pickles are up on the top of my list. They’re so easy to make and you can make them weeks, even months, in advance. The beauty of this recipe is that you can use pretty much any veggie you want, I even added a sliced up granny smith apple. You can mix up the spices to suit too. As […]

Pesto Meatballs

Super tasty pesto meatballs are great in a chicken broth or a hamburger patty

We are currently on a serious budget with the wedding coming up and our trip overseas. This month we’ve challenged ourselves with living off what’s in the fridge & cupboard & only spending $50/wk (or less) on groceries. This would be fine if at the same time I wasn’t trying to be super healthy. We could just carb load on homemade pasta & bread, I have heaps of goodies in the cupboard that’d work wonders with them! But, alas, I must at least try & stick to my goals as much as possible. Step in Pesto Meatballs in a Chicken […]

5 Gifts For The Modern Man Who Has Everything

The Man Who Has Everything If you’re like me or your man is anything like mine, you are probably finding it harder and harder to buy him a gift be it for Valentine’s day or any other gift giving occasion. These days the modern man seems to be ‘the man who has everything’. With access to purchasing things online,  they don’t even have to go to the shops, so the man who never had anything because they hated shopping is gone. All they have to do is click a couple of buttons, wait a day or two, and Wola! They […]

5 Ways To See The Big Game If You Don’t Have Tickets!

5 Ways To See The Big Game If You Don’t Have Tickets!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So I’ve grown up in a family that loves the Cricket, Rugby Union, AFL & Tennis. Every summer the cricket or tennis is on the TV and every winter would be the footy. Now you’d think growing up surrounded by this would make me an avid viewer, well, you’re wrong. I don’t hang out for gameday. What I do hang out for is the friendship, fun and atmosphere that surrounds these events.  I love going to watch the cricket live, the crowd gets so into it and honestly, it’s a great day out. I also […]

Candied Walnut & Sweet Potato Salad

A delicious salad for any dining table

This has to be one of my favourite salads. It’s got that beautiful freshness from the greens, a vibrant contrast in colour with the sweet potato and then it’s got the rich flavour of the feta cheese masked by the sweetness of the candied walnuts and then all brought together with the tangy dressing. D-E-L-ICIOUS! This salad goes great with almost anything. We last had it with a simple piece of steak and it was it needed. It was also a big hit at Christmas, I had to make a second one for our boxing day ‘leftovers’ lunch. So much […]

Creating your Own Invite Design

Key points on designing your own invite

I’m getting married!  And boy have I put a lot on myself in regards to the D I Y involved. But luckily for me it’s what I enjoy doing and I am personally looking forward to it all. Unlike my not so D I Y interested mother and bridesmaids. But because they are all so amazing I have a team of helpers anyway. So, the first thing that was on my D I Y list was my wedding invites. Over the years and scrolling through Pinterest I’ve come across some very interesting ones and some incredibly beautiful ones. I wanted […]

D I Y Terrarium

Great instructions on how to build your own terrarium at home

Now I may be a bit behind the 8 ball on this one but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.   Terrariums have become really popular of late and I now understand why.                                 ‘They are so easy to make!’ Go figure! This literally took me about 20mins after work to whip up. Admittedly I had all the bits and pieces required all ready to go so I could do it in a pinch. But still, they’re super easy and look fantastic! I decided […]

How to Grow a Rose from a Cutting!

Learn how to grow those beautiful roses you buy from the shows in your own backyard.

My gorgeous fiance surprised me for my birthday this year. He said to meet him at central station after work and to wear something pretty. So naturally I was very excited… “I LOVE GOOD SURPRISES,                          And it was a brilliant surprise!” He rocked up with a gorgeous red rose and two tickets to see Aladdin. Talk about spoiled. So how does this have anything to do with growing a rose you ask? Well, that rose lasted in the vase for about 4 weeks. I was very impressed. When […]

Balsamic Strawberry & Rhubarb Jam

A delicious new twists on your classic strawberry jam!

A simple baked strawberry & rhubarb recipe inspired me for this one. I was reading it and decided that this would make a fantastic jam, especially when I read the bit about the balsamic. Using the standard strawberry jam recipe from my favourite little book, ‘Mrs Beetons Jam Making’, I created a rather tasty new jam. It sounds a bit different but trust me it’s just as sweet and yummy as any other jam. Have a go, and let me know what you think! If you liked this jam you should definitely check out my Plum & Vanilla Jam!
