Pesto Meatballs

Super tasty pesto meatballs are great in a chicken broth or a hamburger patty

We are currently on a serious budget with the wedding coming up and our trip overseas. This month we’ve challenged ourselves with living off what’s in the fridge & cupboard & only spending $50/wk (or less) on groceries. This would be fine if at the same time I wasn’t trying to be super healthy. We could just carb load on homemade pasta & bread, I have heaps of goodies in the cupboard that’d work wonders with them! But, alas, I must at least try & stick to my goals as much as possible. Step in Pesto Meatballs in a Chicken […]

Well, […]

5 Gifts For The Modern Age Guy

5 Gifts For The Modern Man Who Has Everything

The Man Who Has Everything If you’re like me or your man is anything like mine, you are probably finding it harder and harder to buy him a gift be it for Valentine’s day or any other gift giving occasion. These days the modern man seems to be ‘the man who has everything’. With access to purchasing things online,  they don’t even have to go to the shops, so the man who never had anything because they hated shopping is gone. All they have to do is click a couple of buttons, wait a day or two, and Wola! They […]

Candied Walnut & Sweet Potato Salad

A delicious salad for any dining table

This has to be one of my favourite salads. It’s got that beautiful freshness from the greens, a vibrant contrast in colour with the sweet potato and then it’s got the rich flavour of the feta cheese masked by the sweetness of the candied walnuts and then all brought together with the tangy dressing. D-E-L-ICIOUS! This salad goes great with almost anything. We last had it with a simple piece of steak and it was it needed. It was also a big hit at Christmas, I had to make a second one for our boxing day ‘leftovers’ lunch. So much […]

5 Things I Learnt From Doing A Semi-Private Gym Program

5 things I learnt from doing a gym program

My Bad Christmas Christmas was pretty bad for me in terms of over-eating and lack of exercise. But the worst thing about it was I knew I was doing it and I didn’t care because again I knew I was kick-starting the year with a 28-day high-intensity gym program, which included a weights and nutrition plan. GYM! DC Health Performance to be exact, but still, A GYM!!! I haven’t done weights in my life unless you count pushups but really that’s just your own body weight and I’m pretty sure my trainer wouldn’t count it. Anyway, I signed up […]

Bradleys Head Reserve – Bushwalking in the City

A beautiful walk in the heart of the city

Bradleys Head Reserve Last Thursday the Fiance and I got up nice and early to go get some pretty shots of the sunrise, and to kill two birds with one stone (slightly brutal, I know) we decided to explore the Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay walk. For me this is fine, I’m an early morning kinda gal, but my fiance?? Not so much. He isn’t the best morning person but he knows how much I enjoy doing these things with him and that he tends to regret it if he doesn’t come along. Unfortunately for him, I forgot to check […]

I’m getting married!  And boy have I put a lot on myself in regards to the D I Y involved. But luckily for me it’s what I enjoy doing and I am personally looking forward to it all. Unlike my not so D I Y interested mother and bridesmaids. But because they are all so amazing I have a team of helpers anyway. So, the first thing that was on my D I Y list was my wedding invites. Over the years and scrolling through Pinterest I’ve come across some very interesting ones and some incredibly beautiful ones. I wanted […]

How to Grow a Rose from a Cutting!

Learn how to grow those beautiful roses you buy from the shows in your own backyard.

My gorgeous fiance surprised me for my birthday this year. He said to meet him at central station after work and to wear something pretty. So naturally I was very excited… “I LOVE GOOD SURPRISES,                          And it was a brilliant surprise!” He rocked up with a gorgeous red rose and two tickets to see Aladdin. Talk about spoiled. So how does this have anything to do with growing a rose you ask? Well, that rose lasted in the vase for about 4 weeks. I was very impressed. When […]

Easy Nectarine Chicken!

This recipe is delicious, and it's so simple! I highly recommend giving it a go.

I have decided to mix up the traditional apricot chicken. I had some chicken thighs in the fridge that needed eating and when I was at the shops today all I could smell were the Nectarines so I decided to grab some and get creative with my chicken. And it worked surprisingly well. I’m calling it the modern take on Apricot Chicken. And best of all it’s so easy and healthy. You pretty much throw everything into the one dish and let it cook. Here’s the recipe. Give it a try and let me know how you go. If you’re […]

Balls Head Reserve – Bushwalking in the City

The best of our City, get your walking shoes on and go and explore some of these fantastic walks that are so close to home!

Balls Head Reserve Balls Head Reserve is a unique experience in the sense that it’s like a true bush walk but then you come around a corner and there is the stunning view of the City & Sydney Harbour Bridge. The tracks are easy to follow but there are few steep climbs. For the more adventurous, there are a few older tracks that are a bit overgrown leading to beautiful lookout spots. But make sure you are careful!  We started our walk at the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability. Here you’ll find a cafe, markets (held on the last Sunday of […]
