Casa del Mare Naxos. Travelling Greece Collectively ME

Naxos is a beautiful Island that I feel isn’t as popular as it should be, then again, maybe that’s how the locals like it. Anyhow, we have just stayed in the best accommodation in Naxos!

I’m sure there are lots of other nice places but this is the one that I’ll choose again and again. The hosts Takis & Athenia are fantastic & make you feel welcome from the minute you get off the plane or ferry.

Before I get started I just wanted to let you know that as always, all the opinions within this post are my own & I am not receiving anything for writing it.

Casa Del Mare, Naxos

As far as Air BnB accommodation goes, this is very high on the list & definitely one of the best holiday accommodations I’ve stayed in. I mean it was about 6 steps to the beach, can’t get much better than that, right?

We were welcomed to the Island by our gracious hosts Takis & Athina. They came to pick us all up from the airport & ferry. They are such beautiful people & made you feel welcome from the very start.

The house was perfect, located kind of in between the towns Agios Prokopios & Agia Anna. There were 6 of us in total & the house had 3 bedrooms all with their own ensuites, a kitchen, large living & dining area inside & a shaded outdoor table perfect for breakfast & afternoon drinks.

The Sleeping Arrangements

As I mentioned there are 3 bedrooms, all with ensuites, 2 rooms with king-sized beds & 1 with a double bed. We had 6 of us staying in the house & felt that the house was the perfect size for us. We could be out of each others way if we wanted to or all join together & have a rowdy old time.

The 3 rooms are located on the upper 2 levels of the house. Our room was on the middle floor & was the smallest of the 3 rooms though it did open onto a little mezzanine looking over the living room. The perfect spot for me to set up my office.

The other 2 rooms are located on the top floor & are huge. Both have double doors with billowing curtains & open up onto small balconies.

All the rooms have beautiful COCO-MAT® white linen & fluffy white towels which get changed out daily & the sheets every other day. You are also provided with some beach towels.

The Living Arrangements

The kitchen is very well equipped & allowed us to prepare some yummy meals. Though in the end, we tended to just eat out because all the restaurants were very close & really well priced. Or we went & got a Gyros for €2.50, bargain.

There are 2 dining tables, one inside & the other outside. We didn’t end up using the inside table because of how lovely the weather was outside. The lounge area provided you with some comfy couches to relax on & a TV equipped with Netflix.

Also provided was a washing machine & line for your dirty laundry, wi-fi throughout the whole house, as air conditioning in every room, & a rooftop patio which was a perfect spot to watch the sunset from.

Things To Do

Sit & relax in one of the multiple deck chairs set up on the beach by all the restaurants. You can sit there & drink cocktails all day if you wanted to. The water was just stunning, a perfect temperature, & a beautiful turquoise blue.

You can get a bus into Naxos town to do a bit of shopping & see some of the towns historic sites like the temple of Apollo.

For the more adventurous you could get up early & climb Mt Zas to watch the sunrise. Josh & I did this on the recommendation of Takis. It was stunning & a fantastic view of the whole island once the sun was up. I highly recommend if you do stay to get the details off Takis & go do it.

Hire a car or scooter & go on a tour of the island. We went to find some different beaches & somewhere for lunch. Again Takis was able to recommend a fantastic family-owned restaurant for us, Platia, in a village called Galini which is famous for its eggplants. They had amazing food & were so friendly. Platia Restaurant Naxos. Travelling Greece Collectively ME

On one of our other adventures, we drove down the south-east side of the island to see all the beaches & towns. On our way back we stumbled across Kastraki Beach. This beach is beautiful & has an amazing Taverna, Kastraki Paradise Taverna. It is a classic Greek restaurant with a beautiful outdoor setting & amazing market fresh food. The menu changes throughout the day/week/month depending on whats fresh & available.Kastraki Paradise Taverna, Naxos. Collectivelyme. Greece (4)

If you do happen to get stuck for things to do, Takis & Athina have left a very detailed handbook with a whole heap of information in it. Or you can simply give them a call & ask what they recommend, they were more than happy for us to contact them for absolutely anything, in fact, they encouraged it. Takis even brought around some snorkelling gear, yoga mats & beach racketball for us.

The Finer Details

Casa del Mare is available from April to October but books up quickly.

For information on prices & availability head to their Ais BnB page Unique Beachfront Cycladic Villa. Here you can also find more information on the facilities & services they offer. For other accommodation offered by Takis & Athina head to their site SeasideNaxos.com.

So will we stay there again? YES, a definite yes from me. We had such a lovely stay & felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Our hosts were incredibly helpful & felt more like friends than our hosts by the time we left. And the beaches, OMG the beaches were stunning, you just have to go & see them for yourself.

This house was the perfect place for a family holiday or 3 couples looking for a fabulous villa to share.

Thank you Takis & Athina.
